Transport Operator vs Booking Platform: Why It Matters

A transport operator is the company that actually runs the boats. They own and maintain vessels, employ crews, manage safety, set schedules, and operate the transport network. Without operators, there is no island transportation.

A travel agency or booking platform helps travelers find routes, compare options, and book tickets. They do not run boats. They simply connect passengers to operators.

Booking directly with an operator means:

  1. Official prices and promotions
  2. Information straight from the source
  3. Supporting fleet maintenance, safety and long-term stability of island transportation.
  4. Support local maritime jobs (Crews, maintenance team and a lot more)

Tigerline Ferry & Siri Lanta Speedboat is a Thai-owned transport operator serving the Andaman Sea since 2003. We operate over 40 vessels, connect 20 islands and 40+ stations, and rely on local crews and services to keep island travel safe and reliable. By transfering hundreds of thousands of passengers annually to their destination.

Simply put:

Operators run the transport. Platforms help you find it.

By choosing how and where to book, travelers support the systems that make island travel possible.
